Implantology

Dental implantology is a branch of dentistry that takes advantage of osseointegrated endosseous implants to replace one or more teeth. Implants made of titanium, a highly biocompatible material, are characterized by having a surface that is pretreated by means of industrial processes that increase the bone binding interface.

Inserting a replacement implant for a missing tooth avoids alveolar bone resorption, therefore it represents the best solution both from an aesthetic and a functional point of view.
Pitino Dental Centre has used dental implants for over 30 years, achieving excellent quality standards in terms of efficacy and safety.
The use of high-quality and exclusively-certified facilities (Astra, Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Biomet 3i) allows to obtain excellent, undeniable therapeutic results.
When facing specific diseases or cases, one important dental implant procedure used by our medical staff involves immediate loading implants: a way to obtain a set of fixed and stable teeth within 24 hours after the implant insertion. Immediate loading implants offer several advantages:

> no need for multiple procedures
> everything happens in just one visit to the dentist
> patients can already eat solid foods on the second day
> implants can be placed shortly after the extraction
> no contraindications compared to deferred load
> the patient’s smile returns immediately.

When there is a difficult scenario with limited bone support available, it may be necessary to use reduced-length implants. In such cases Pitino Dental Centre uses 3i super short implants. This type of implants can be placed in less than 6 millimeters of bone, reducing the need for grafting procedures, avoiding vital bone structures and improving the chances to perform implant treatments.
